The winner Community Media:
Bernard Lamprecht from Radio Namakwaland
The judges wrote: “This category of media touches on the very coalface of our communities. Often it probes the issues that mainstream media cannot get to – particularly those daily developments and issues on the outer perimeters of the urban centres. Our winner in this category probed the responsibility of farmers and their dealings with their workers. The story had a human face and highlighted how farm owners cared for their laborers and their children as much as their own families.”
